I’ve held a Hostile Environments and Battlefield first aid certificate since 2001 and have worked extensively in war zones, I’ve spent months in Afghanistan, everywhere from Kabul to Helmand. The Hostile Environments training isn’t just useful for war zones though, I’ve travelled a lot in Africa, Asia, South America and the Middle East, and sailing down the Amazon can be as dangerous as patrolling for IEDS in Afghanistans Sangin Valley
